Pool Enclosures - Design

Retractable pool enclosures also know as indoor outdoor pool enclosures comprise of individual bays, that can be any length, made from numerous panels. The bays telescopic in order to retract, inside the other. Each operational bay runs on casters which are mounted on a track, leading each bay as it closes it opens. The enclosure can be partially or fully opened using our patented, automatic drive system which manages the movement of the pool enclosure with the simple push of a button.

Framing

Our Pool enclosures have a patented framing system that is comprised of extruded aluminum frames and stainless tension rods. The rods preload the enclosure building structurally, allowing the system to face up to greater wind and snow loads. The frames also include integrated gutters that collects and channels internal condensation to the outside of the pool enclosure.

Another feature is our splice plate assemblies (patented) that doesn’t require forcing or hammering the framing system during construction. These splice plate assembly components are put together in a mechanical assembly system that can tolerate greater loads than standard systems. Our unique framework features are designed with the latest engineering tools and tested to where they exceed present standards. The (aluminum enclosure) aluminum frame is finished with a high quality architectural paint and is available in various colours. The finish displays outstanding resistance to moisture, color change, chalking, high shine shift and chemical cleaning. As well, complies or exceeds all AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) 2605 specification.

Seals & Glazing

The roof panels are typically twin wall polycarbonate with the vertical surfaces glazed with clear acrylic. Additional selection are also available.

In order to supply protection from the weather, every panel is compressed between 2 seals. Thermal breaks fasteners are put in to assist scale back heat loss, together with double weather seals at the telescoping interfaces.

Tracks

When closing or opening the retractable pool enclosure for indoor pools, the casters of the telescoping bays are aligned on parallel tracks. These tracks are made up of extruded aluminum that is surfaced mounted or embedded on existing foundations.

Installation of the enclosure tracks needs a flat and level surface. These tracks are secured with stainless-steel anchors. A locking system is put in to secure the bays to the tracks. There's no requirement to secure the moving bays with anchors or pins.

Drive System

COVERS in Play patented drive system permits the retractable pool enclosure to be closed or opened with the push of a button. This unique feature in the industry allows for larger and diverse designs for the enclosure system. No pushing is required!

In order to allow the safe operation of the drive system, many security measures are incorporated. First, a key needs to be inserted before the button is pressed to open or close the pool enclosure. Additionally, movement of the retractable pool enclosure can stop once the button is released.

COVERS in Play motorized drive system is a standard feature for all pool enclosures and roof enclosures.

Panel Sizing

COVERS in Play pool enclosures patented design allows standard vertical panel sizes up to 7ft wide. Cross bracing for framing is not required providing an unobstructed clear view of the outdoors.

Hardware

Our enclosures are assembled using only stainless steel fasteners and hardware.

Window and Doors

The arrangement of windows and doors includes windows, sliding doors, man doors and windows with automatic actuators available. The rigid enclosure's frame permits the doors to be made of glass instead of acrylic or polycarbonate. Tempered glass is a less prone to scratching in high traffic areas.
